Testing a new clutch - Mcleod Racing
At Fensport we like to test products for ourselves before selling them to you guys so we can be confident in them. Clutches are a tough one as when a "new" name drops onto the scene in the clutch world the immediate opinion will be "that will be crap....it won't work" "it won't hold the power" "it will be poor quality" etc
So Ewen from Clark Motorsport sent us a Mcleod Racing Street Tuner clutch and chromoly flywheel, definitely not going to be enough for my end goals of 500hp but I could test the "real" limits of the clutch as these things are always so under rated so the manufacturers don't get slated when they only hold x amount of power. Unfortunately the flywheel didn't fit, they are revisiting this to figure out why or if they just sent out the wrong part but the clutch looks and feels fantastic quality. Packaging is great too, this is a problem with some other brands so the covers end up getting scratched up and looking nasty, not a problem but it does suck when your new shiny clutch arrives scratched up.

Fast forward to the future of 05/05/2020 my review of the clutch is it feels fantastic, feels like stock to drive, very light on the pedal and very easy to pull away at junctions. I got up to 0.6bar of boost with some aggressive ignition timing well over 250ftlbs of torque, impressive when they rate it at 195ftlbs. This will suit 90% of forced induction GT86s on stock engines. Its a thumbs up from me and we will have the whole mcleod range listed on the website shortly.
